Biogreen CO2 Tablets
€38,86
Biogreeen CO2 Tablets are effervescent tablets containing potassium hydroxide and potassium carbonate. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a powerful gaseous fertiliser. More CO2 in the air means more plant growth. The plant extracts the required CO2 from the air, which through photosynthesis in the leaves is converted into sugars and oxygen.
- 100 tablets
- CO2 dissolves in water
- adding CO2 reduces pH
- the amount of CO2 dissolved in water in this form also depends on the concentration and pH of the water
- water obtained through water-distribution systems is released into dissolved CO2
CO2 is the most important element for all living organisms. Carbon (C) and oxygen (O2) are two of the most important elements for living organisms, in addition to water, light and nutrients needed for plant growth. Therefore, CO2 is one of the basic nutrients. The plant extracts the necessary CO2 from the air through photosynthesis in its leaves, which is then converted into sugars, carbohydrates, cellulose and oxygen. The plant releases oxygen into the air and uses a small portion of it for respiration; the sugars are used as nutrients. The plant consists of 90% water, 9.6% assimilated carbohydrates (such as cellulose in the cell wall) and only 0.4% inorganic material. Other substances such as NPK, vitamins, spores and minerals are also very important for the plant’s various functions.
Directions for use:
- 1 tablet dissolves in 200L of water in 90 seconds.
- Active for 48h after dissolving.
- Does not affect the EC value.
CO2 percentage in the air (in a greenhouse):
- completely blocked photosynthesis: 100 ppm 0.010%
- the plant still respires but does not photosynthesise: 150 ppm 0.015%
- normal atmosphere (natural value): 340 ppm 0.034%
- optimal for mushrooms: 550 ppm 0.055%
- optimal photosynthesis: 1200 ppm 0.120%
- lethal for plants: 10000 ppm 1%
In a greenhouse, the concentration of CO2 is much higher in the morning than in the afternoon and evening because plants do not photosynthesise at night, but respiration continues.
How do you supply plants with CO2?
- Various systems are available. A very easy method is using effervescent tablets. One component of these tablets is active oxygen. This oxygen is released as soon as the tablet dissolves.
- 1 5-gram tablet provides 30% (1.5 g) CO2 and 1.5% (0.075 g) active oxygen. The tablets dissolve completely without residue.
- Citric acid and carbonates react very quickly on contact with water. During this reaction, CO2 is released. In addition, many substances are released whose effect is very positive for the plant’s energy metabolism.
