Growth Technology pH Probe Refill & Storage Solution is a specialised solution for maintaining, refilling and storing pH electrodes with liquid electrolyte. Regular use of the solution helps maintain accurate measurements, extends electrode life and prevents the sensitive measuring membrane from drying out.

Every pH electrode needs proper maintenance to provide accurate and reliable measurements. Growth Technology pH Probe Refill & Storage Solution is specially developed for pH probes and electrodes with liquid electrolyte, allowing both replenishment of the internal solution and proper storage between measurements.

During normal use, the electrolyte level in pH electrodes gradually decreases. Regular topping up with a suitable solution helps maintain correct electrode operation and ensures consistent measurement accuracy.

In addition to being a refill solution, the product also serves as a pH probe storage solution. When the electrode is not in use, its glass tip should remain immersed in a suitable liquid. This prevents the membrane from drying out and significantly extends the measuring instrument's service life.

The formula contains diluted potassium chloride (KCl), which maintains the electrode in optimal condition and helps preserve its sensitivity and accuracy even during prolonged use.

Pumpkin Chili (Pumpkin Chili) is an unusual, ornamental hot pepper variety of the species Capsicum baccatum, whose fruits resemble miniature pumpkins. They have a pleasant fruity, sweet flavour with mild heat, making this variety interesting both for cooking and ornamental growing. The plant is easy to grow and performs well directly in the garden.

Pumpkin Chili (Pumpkin Chili) stands out above all for the characteristic pumpkin-like shape of its fruit. The flavour is described as fruity, sweet and mildly hot.

The plants develop quite vigorously and can be pruned. At the same time, other sources describe the variety as compact, with dark leaves and fruit ripening from black through yellow to red.

Variety characteristics

• Variety: Pumpkin Chili (Pumpkin Chili)
• Botanical species: Capsicum baccatum
• Type: Hot / ornamental pepper
• Fruit shape: Resembles a miniature pumpkin
• Flavour: Fruity and sweet
• Heat level: Around 1 000 SHU, though Vreeken's gives this value with a question mark
• Growth: Vigorous, according to Vreeken's observations
• Pruning: Recommended in case of excessive growth
• Outdoor growing: Yes
• Greenhouse growing: Yes
• Growing difficulty: An easy-to-grow variety.

🔥 Heat

≈ 1 000 SHU

The heat is described as mild, allowing the pepper’s sweet and fruity qualities to come through more clearly.

🌱 Sowing and growing

Sowing: January – April
Sowing location: Indoors
Germination temperature: 20–30°C
Planting in a greenhouse: For higher yields
Planting outdoors: Around the end of May
Pruning: As needed
Support: Tying is recommended for tall plants.

In autumn, the plants can be moved into pots and brought indoors. On a bright windowsill, they can continue fruiting and ripening fruit that has already formed.

🍴 Culinary use

The combination of a sweet, fruity flavour and mild heat makes Pumpkin Chili suitable for:

• Fresh salads
• Salsa
• Mild hot sauces
• Pickling
• Spicy appetisers
• Garnishing and decorating dishes
• Stuffing, if the size of the individual fruit allows it

The unusual pumpkin-like shape is an additional advantage in recipes where the appearance of the fruit matters.

💡 Urban Botaniks tip: Pumpkin Chili (Pumpkin Chili) is an excellent choice when you are looking for a pepper that is both tasty and visually unusual. We would not place too much emphasis on the exact Scoville rating, since Vreeken's itself gives it as approximate. The variety’s real strength is the combination of pumpkin-like shape, sweet-fruity flavour and mild heat.

Lemon zucchini is a unique variety with a colour and shape resembling lemons. From a distance, it can easily be mistaken for citrus fruit, but its taste is much milder, sweeter and refreshing. Young zucchini are excellent eaten raw; sliced thinly, they add freshness to salads.

The plant is easy to grow outdoors. It does not trail; the fruits grow directly from the centre of the plant. It is best to harvest them young, but for a decorative effect you can allow them to ripen fully and keep them as decoration.

This variety is a gardener's favourite because of its high yield, insect resistance and attractive appearance.

Sowing method:

• Planting: From April to May indoors or directly in the garden after mid-May.
• Plant spacing: Approximately 90x90 cm.

Recipe ideas:

• Abundant harvest? Chop the zucchini, onion and garlic, sauté and blend. Freeze the resulting mixture; it makes an ideal base for soups.
• Overgrown zucchini? Peel them and remove the seeds. Use a peeler to make thin strips, salt them and leave them to drain. Mix with chopped onion, mayonnaise and herbs such as pimpernel or chives for a wonderful salad serving 4-8 people.

These tees are ideal for reducing 13 mm tubing to 4 mm tubing when using large systems. They are inserted inline at the point where the AQUAvalve valve or aquaPot is located. They provide a watertight connection, unlike many other types of reducing fittings. They work in exactly the same way as the AutoPot 13-4 mm cross connector, but this fitting has one 4 mm tubing connection, while the cross connector provides two 4 mm tubing connections.

The 13 mm triple connector for AutoPot is used simply to join three sections of 13 mm pipe (hose) together. Double-barbed for higher pressures.

Troll is a compact, highly ornamental chilli pepper that impresses with variegated green-white-purple leaves, deep-purple stems and numerous dark-purple fruit ripening gradually to red. The plant reaches only around 50 cm in height, making it excellent for pots, balconies and small spaces. The olive-shaped fruit is plentiful and offers clear heat of 10 000–15 000 SHU.

Troll combines ornamental appearance with edible hot fruit. Its strongest feature is its unusual colouring – variegated leaves are speckled with green, white and purple spots, while the stems are deep dark purple.

The same purple colour appears on young fruit. They have an interesting olive-like shape, form in large numbers and turn from dark purple to red at full maturity. The compact height of around 50 cm further enhances the variety’s ornamental value.

Variety characteristics

• Variety: Troll
• Type: Hot and ornamental pepper
• Botanical species: Capsicum sp. – the exact species is not specified by Vreeken's
• Heat: 10 000–15 000 SHU
• Height: around 50 cm
• Growth: Compact
• Leaves: Variegated – green with white and purple spots
• Stems: Deep dark purple
• Fruit shape: Olive-shaped
• Colour of young fruit: Dark purple
• Colour at maturity: Red
• Fruiting: Abundant
• Suitable for pots: Yes.

🔥 Heat

10 000–15 000 SHU

Unlike Troll Long Phen, the standard Troll has its heat level clearly stated by the manufacturer – 10 000–15 000 Scoville Heat Units. The small fruits are described as quite hot.

This is a pleasant medium heat level – considerably spicier than Jalapeño, but far from extreme Habanero and superhot varieties.

🌱 Sowing and growing

Sowing: January – April
Location: indoors
Germination temperature: 20–30°C
Planting in a greenhouse: for a higher yield
Outdoor planting: around the end of May
Height: about 50 cm
Pruning: as needed to maintain a compact form.

At the end of the season, the plant can be moved into a pot and brought onto a bright windowsill, where it can continue fruiting under suitable conditions.

🪴 Ornamental value

This is where Troll stands out most. One compact plant combines:

variegated leaves → dark-purple stems → purple fruits → ripe red peppers.

This creates an interesting colour composition through the different stages of development. At only about 50 cm tall, the variety is especially suitable for ornamental growing in pots on a balcony, terrace or sunny windowsill.

🍴 Culinary use

At 10 000–15 000 SHU, the fruits can be used for hot sauces, salsa, marinades and various spicy dishes. Their small size allows easy dosing.

Still, for this variety I would place the main emphasis on the combination of ornamental value and edible hot fruits, as this is precisely what sets it apart from many standard varieties.

💡 Urban Botaniks tip: For Troll (Troll), I would focus primarily on its compact 50 cm height and striking combination of variegated leaves, purple stems and colour-changing fruits. This is a variety that can easily be sold both as a hot and ornamental pepper – it looks impressive in a pot while producing numerous edible fruits with a genuine heat level of 10 000–15 000 SHU.

Troll Long Phen (Troll Long Phen) is a new and still little-researched hot pepper variety, likely distinguished by variegated leaves and longer fruits. Its stated heat level is approximately 10 000–15 000 SHU, but the supplier itself places a question mark on this value, so it should be regarded as indicative. The variety is of particular interest to enthusiasts of rare, ornamental and unusual peppers.

Troll Long Phen  is a new addition to our catalogue, for which there are still insufficient practical observations. The supplier assumes that the plant has variegated foliage and that the fruits are more elongated and probably quite hot.

Variety characteristics

• Variety: Troll Long Phen (Troll Long Phen)
• Type: Hot pepper / Hot Pepper
• Botanical species: Capsicum sp. – the exact species has not been identified
• Heat level: approximately 10 000–15 000 SHU
• Leaves: Probably variegated
• Fruits: Presumably longer
• Heat level: Probably medium-hot
• Status: New and still little-researched variety
• Suitable for: Collectors and enthusiasts of unusual peppers.
