SuperPro BAC-2 Digital Climate Controller
€184,07
Digital temperature and humidity controller with photocell
BAC-2 is designed to control temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide and an additional "night" device. The controller has 4 outputs and an external probe with temperature, humidity and photocell sensors. The probe is designed to respond quickly to environmental changes, remain unaffected by electromagnetic emissions (e.g. from ballasts), and is mounted on a 5-metre cable.
Technical specifications:
Power supply: 220V, 50Hz
Maximum current/power: 10A (~2200W)
Sensor cable: 5m
Temperature control range: 5-45°C
Temperature accuracy: +/- 1°C
Temperature control interval (hysteresis): As set
Humidity control range: 5% to 95% RH
Humidity accuracy: +/- 7% RH
Humidity control interval (hysteresis): As set
CO2 ON interval: 1 sec - 12 h
CO2 OFF interval: 1 sec - 96 h
Weight: 2 kg
Dimensions: 223x210x92mm
Protection class: IP20
INSTALLATION:
Mount BAC-2 on a wall.
Place the probe in a suitable location where it can receive relevant environmental data - in an area with good air circulation, at an appropriate height, away from direct light.
The probe connects to the controller via a connector. The connector is secured with a quick-release screw.
Connect the controller to the mains and the devices to the controller. Ensure the maximum power is not exceeded. If you need to connect more powerful equipment (air conditioner, dehumidifier or heater), use a relay (contactor).
IMPORTANT: The probe is not waterproof! Keep it away from water!
Set the settings before connecting devices to the controller.
PHOTOCELL SENSITIVITY:
Press and hold ENTER and UP simultaneously for 3 seconds. The current setting appears on the screen. Adjust it with the arrows. A higher value means greater sensitivity (i.e. weaker light will trigger the photocell). Press ENTER to enter the new setting.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
The controller supplies power to its 4 outputs:
- COOLING OUTPUT (top left) - activates a cooling device (e.g. ventilation or air conditioner).
- HUMIDITY OUTPUT (bottom right) - activates a dehumidifying or humidifying device.
- NIGHT OUTPUT (top right) - activates a device that switches on during the dark period.
- CO2 OUTPUT (bottom left) - activates a device that supplies CO2, or another device that switches on at set intervals. Note: the controller does not measure CO2 levels.
BUTTONS AND FUNCTIONS:
BAC-2 is configured using the buttons on the front panel. Pressing a button displays the corresponding function on the screen. Some buttons have more than one function. The green indicator lights show the selected functions when their respective buttons are pressed.
- UP ARROW - selects a higher value
- DOWN ARROW - selects a lower value
- Enter/Reset - press and hold for 3 seconds to enter new settings
TEMPERATURE BUTTONS:
- Temp day setting - Sets the temperature during the light period.
- Temp night setting - Sets the temperature during the dark period.
- Temp dead-band - Sets the temperature control interval (hysteresis).
HUMIDITY BUTTONS:
- Humid setting - Sets humidity (for the light or dark period). To set humidity during the light period, press once; the display shows "day_rH". To set humidity during the dark period, press twice; the display shows "nit_rH".
- Humid mode - Selects "humidifying" (rH Incr) or "dehumidifying" (rH decr) mode.
- Humid dead-band - Sets the humidity control interval (hysteresis).
CO2 BUTTONS:
CO2 Mode - Selects the operating mode. In "dAYlocK" mode, the "CO2" output is off if "Cooling output" is on (i.e. ventilation is running). In "dAYFrEE" mode, the "CO2" and "Cooling output" outputs can be on at the same time. Use "dAYFrEE" if "Cooling output" controls an air conditioner.
- CO2 ON time - Sets the interval for which the "CO2" output is on.
- CO2 OFF time - Sets the interval for which the "CO2" output is off.
You can use the "CO2" output to control another type of device, such as a circulation pump.
SPECIAL BUTTONS:
- Temp & Humid lock - Locks or separates temperature and humidity control. They can be controlled together (COnnEct) or separately (SPLit).
- Select "COnnEct" when using ventilation to remove excess humidity. In this mode, a rise in temperature or humidity turns on "Cooling output".
- Select "SPLit" if you use ventilation (or an air conditioner) for cooling and a separate device to remove excess humidity. In this mode, a rise in temperature turns on "Cooling output", while a rise in humidity turns on "Humidity output"
- Select "SPLit" if you use ventilation (or an air conditioner) for cooling and a separate device to increase humidity.
- Min / Max Temp - Displays the recorded minimum and maximum temperature. Press and hold Enter/Reset to clear the stored values.
- Min / Max Humid - Displays the recorded minimum and maximum humidity. Press and hold Enter/Reset to clear the stored values.
- To change the unit from °F to °C, press and hold UP and DOWN for 3 seconds.
INDICATOR LIGHTS:
BAC-2 can monitor temperature and humidity and warn of issues with the devices it powers.
During normal controller operation, temperature and humidity change gradually. These changes are detected by the controller. If temperature or humidity does not change at all for 1 hour, the controller switches off the respective device and the corresponding indicator starts flashing. This is a very important function that can prevent serious problems.
Example: The "Cooling error" indicator is flashing. This means either the device connected to "Cooling output" did not switch on, or the temperature sensor has a problem.
To clear an error, press Enter/reset.
FACTORY SETTINGS:
Temperature during the light period: Temperature during the dark period: Temperature hysteresis:
Humidity: 50% Humidity mode: Rh decr (dehumidifying) Humidity hysteresis: 5%
CO2 mode: DayFree CO2 ON: 1 min. CO2 OFF: 30 min. Temperature and humidity: separately
Restore factory settings: Press and hold Enter / Reset for 3 seconds. The display shows "f.Set". Press Enter / Reset again. The display shows "doNE"
SETTING PARAMETERS:
Press a button and the display shows the current setting. Change the value using the arrows. Press Enter to enter the new value.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
High temperature is detected: Do not position the probe directly beneath the lamps.
The display shows "Err SEn": Sensor error. Switch off the controller, disconnect the sensor, reconnect it and restart.
Humidity rises instead of falling (or vice versa): Select the correct mode.
The CO2 timer does not keep accurate time: Replace the battery (CR1220, 3V, 5-year life).
The controller does not supply power: Restart it using the button at the bottom of the housing. Check the power rating of the devices connected to the controller. If necessary, use a relay (contactor).
IMPORTANT
Keep these instructions and follow them in full. Observe all warnings.
Do not use near water! Do not install near heat sources. Do not block the ventilation openings!
Do not attempt to repair the controller! Do not use it if the power cable insulation is damaged!
The controller has a built-in circuit breaker against short circuits or overloads. All outputs are grounded; connect only to an earthed socket.
