LUMATEK 600W 240V Controllable Electronic Ballast

LUMATEK 600W 240V CONTROLLABLE BALLAST is a digital controllable ballast that can operate with both high-pressure sodium (HPS) and metal-halide (MH) lamps. It provides stable and precise voltage to the lamp, creating higher PAR/PPF output and is nevertheless far more energy efficient than most ballasts on the market! The ballast features intelligent start technology and a soft-dimming mechanism! It can be externally controlled with LUMATEK Control Panel Plus 2.0 (sold separately).

An electronic ballast is a solution to the problem of irregular voltage in the power grid! Magnetic ballasts age over time, begin to make noise and consume more electricity, heat up more and more while their light output decreases. This does not happen with digital ballasts—they maintain the same level of output and efficiency. LUMATEK ballasts are programmed for “soft start”, meaning no voltage or current peak is required to start the lamp; this extends bulb life, does not overload the electrical installation and allows a larger number of ballasts to start safely at the same time.

Operating instructions:

• For use with a 250W HPS or MH lamp: the ballast must be always and only in 250W mode!
• For use with a 400W HPS or MH lamp: the ballast must never be in 600W or 660W mode!
• For use with a 600W HPS or MH lamp: Start in 600W mode and only after the lamp has fully warmed up (after approximately 10min. of operation), can you switch to 660W mode!

1. Disconnect the power when changing the lamp!
2. LUMATEK recommends replacing the lamp after 6-12 months of operation!
3. VERY IMPORTANT: allow the lamp to cool completely (20-30min.) before switching it on again! (Doing otherwise shortens its life.)
4. Also, do not switch the lamp off before it has reached full power!
