Organic red onion seeds – Traditional Florentine flavour

Description:
Grown with care for nature, these organic seeds produce fresh, mildly spicy red onions, ideal for salads. Originating from the Mediterranean, this variety adapts excellently to our conditions. When harvested early, the onions are small and fresh; if left to mature, they become long purple-red bulbs, also known as shallot onions. Their sweetness and spicy flavour make them suitable for many dishes.

Sowing method:

• Planting:
  • Pre-sowing: From March; transplant the seedlings after germination.
  • Direct sowing: From mid-April in rows, enriching the soil with compost or potting mix.
• Spacing:
  • For spring onions: 30 x 4 cm.
  • For large bulbs: thin to 30 x 20 cm.
