Dimlux Humidity (RH) Sensor
The Dimlux relative humidity sensor displays the ambient humidity in real time on the Dimlux Maxi Controller. If the relative humidity sensor is connected, you can also connect a humidifier to the Maxi Controller. If you want the vapour pressure deficit (VPD)* to be displayed, a plant temperature camera and the Dimlux temperature sensor are also required.
- measures relative humidity levels in the room
- precise, professional equipment
- 10m cable
*Note: see the detailed description for an explanation of vapour pressure deficit (VPD).
The next step towards complete climate control in your indoor growing space is to add the Dimlux Relative Humidity (RH) Sensor. The humidity sensor reports relative humidity levels in the growing area directly to the Dimlux Maxi Controller. Since temperature and humidity are interdependent, the two factors must be controlled together. Calculating the vapour pressure deficit (VPD) in rooms with maximum climate control ensures optimum conditions for an outstanding growing environment. Simply connect a humidifier to your controller and the sensor will manage the on/off timing, giving your plants the most natural setup for sustainable growth and development indoors.
- What is vapour pressure deficit (VPD)? Vapour pressure deficit is the difference between the water vapour pressure in 100% saturated air at a given temperature (the water vapour pressure in the leaves) and the actual water vapour pressure in the air. A high VPD value increases the plant’s transpiration rate (moisture release through the leaves) and nutrient movement through the plant’s xylem, while a low VPD value slows nutrient movement through the plant.
