Cucumbers are easy to grow and suitable for both outdoors and greenhouses. They form long stems that should be pruned regularly. A warm summer is needed for a successful outdoor harvest, while all varieties grow well in a greenhouse. If fruits are missing, try guiding the plant outdoors to improve pollination.

Cucumbers are usually harvested before they are fully ripe. Young fruits are ideal for salads, while mature ones with attractive skin can be eaten like melon. Small cucumbers or very young fruits are often used for pickles or healthy snacks. Warning: some ornamental varieties are not edible – always check the variety description!
