LUMATEK 1000W 240V CONTROLLABLE digital ballast

LUMATEK 1000W 240V CONTROLLABLE BALLAST is a digitally controllable ballast that can operate with both sodium (HPS) and metal-halide (MH) lamps. It provides stable, precise voltage to the lamp, delivering higher PAR/PPF output while being far more energy-efficient than most ballasts on the market. The ballast features intelligent start technology and a soft-dimming mechanism. It can be externally controlled with the LUMATEK Control Panel Plus 2.0 (sold separately).

An electronic ballast is a solution to the problem of irregular mains voltage. Magnetic ballasts age over time, become noisy and consume more electricity, while heating up ever more as their light output declines. This does not happen with digital ballasts: they maintain the same output and efficiency. LUMATEK ballasts are programmed for a “soft start”, meaning no voltage or current spike is required to start the lamp. This extends bulb life, does not strain the electrical installation and enables more ballasts to be started safely at the same time.

Operating instructions:

• for use with a 600W HPS or MH lamp: the ballast must always be set to 600W mode only!
• for use with a 750W HPS or MH lamp: the ballast must never be set to 1000W or 1000W SL mode!
• for use with a 1000W HPS or MH lamp: start in 1000W mode and only after the lamp is fully warmed up (after around 10 min. of operation), you can switch to 1000W SL mode!

1. Disconnect the power when changing the lamp!
2. LUMATEK recommends replacing the lamp after 6-12 months of operation!
3. VERY IMPORTANT: allow the lamp to cool completely (20-30min.) before switching it on again! (Doing otherwise shortens its life.)
4. Also, do not switch the lamp off before it has reached full power!
